摘要
Investigates the relationship between the milling parameters and the surface residual stress in high speed milling the high hardness and strength alloy steels. Experiments on the cutting temperature and cutting force of high hardness and strength alloy steels were carried out in high speed milling. Rules of influence of milling parameters on the average milling temperature and milling force were studied, and empirical formulas of the temperature and milling force with the milling parameters were established, and the effects of cutting force and cutting temperature and the microstructure caused by the cutting temperature on the residual stress were also analyzed. The results show that the surface residual stress exists obviously in high speed milling the high hardness and strength alloy steels. Compressive residual stress is generated in the selected parameters range, and the main reason that the compressive residual stress is generated is the cutting force and the microstructures changes of the degenerative layer caused by the cutting heat. And with the increase of the cutting speed, the residual stress becomes larger and the depth of the metal with residual stress becomes larger too.
