Ranging Technology for UAV Nodes Based on Integration of Communication and Navigation

摘要

UAV swarms demand reliable inter-node ranging, yet GNSS-based methods are interference-prone, and independent communication-navigation systems suffer from spectrum conflicts and inflexibility. This paper proposes a communication-navigation integrated ranging technique that enables relative distance measurement by reusing communication link data, decoupling high-speed data transmission from precision ranging. A TOA estimation method combining pseudo-code regeneration and sinc operator is introduced: the sinc operator models the band-limited distorted correlation function, and Gauss-Newton iteration performs high-precision peak localization. Simulations show the ranging accuracy asymptotically approaches the CRLB, remains independent of specific modulation/coding, and offers strong versatility for inter-UAV ranging.
