Radial temperature distribution of buckling plate in the multi-disc clutch system

摘要

The failures of friction components in the multi-disc clutch are the bottle neck that restrict further development of increasing energy density and increasing trans mission torque. Coning-shape buckling consists of a large proportion of normal failure. It is necessary to investigate the influence of buckling on the pressure distribution and tempera ture field of separate plates to extend the duration of service under the premise of safety. In this investigation, a multi-disc clutch force model that consists of one 8 buckling separate plate is built. Based on this model, the pressure and temperature distribution along radial direction during the engagement process is investigated. Results of temperature show that if the third separate plate experiences severe buckling, the temperature rise of one engagement can be 95.31℃, higher than the fresh plate. Moreover, this investigation finds that every separate plate is affected by the buckling plate, even if it is far away.
