Powering the Future: How Can Electrochemistry Make a Difference in Organic Synthesis?

摘要

In recent years, organic electrosynthesis has revolutionized the art of molecular syntheses by electron transfer. Herein, we discuss major recent trends in organic electrosynthesis that are attracting significant topical attention, namely (1) paired electrolysis, (2) innovative electrode materials, (3) electrophotocatalysis, and (4) enantioselective electrocatalysis. Future directions of these emerging trends in molecular electrocatalysis are critically assessed as to how electrochemistry will make the difference in organic synthesis.
