摘要
This paper proposes, to our knowledge, a novel optical matrix-vector multiplier (OMVM) system based on transformation optics. The core design utilizes two specific conformal mappings: one transforms a Maxwell fisheye lens into a cylindrical lens to achieve point-to-line dimensional expansion for multiplication, and another creates a convergence lens to sum the light rays for the summation operation. Compared to existing systems, this design relies solely on gradient refractive index (GRIN) media, avoiding complex microstructures. This grants the system significant advantages in simplicity and scalability, with no fundamental dimensionality limit for processing large-scale data. Theoretical analysis and simulations confirm its feasibility and potential as an efficient platform for future optical computing and information processing.
