Numerical simulation for forming high velocity shaped projectile using axial asymmetric charge

摘要

An axial asymmetric structure of shaped charge was proposed, and a water-drop-like high velocity shaped projectile was studied. The projectile's forming process was simulated numerically by using LS-DYNA software, and compared with that of the projectile formed by conventional axial symmetric shaped charge detonated in multiple-point initiation. The simulated results indicate that the head velocity reaches 3400 m/s, which is 16% higher than the conventional charge; the shaped charge can form the water-drop-like projectile with higher penetrating ability. The investigated results can provide a reference for designing new shaped charge structure.
