摘要

The realization of high-rate terahertz (THz) communication necessitates comprehensive channel studies across various typical scenarios. This work focuses on THz channel characteristics in urban environments, a representative outdoor communication setting. We employ a ray tracing algorithm to plan propagation routes and conduct channel measurements in a real urban scenario, adhering to the planned incidence angles. Our analysis encompasses the variations in scattering and absorption losses under swept-frequency measurements. Leveraging surface sensing properties, we derive the dielectric constant of urban structures at 220 GHz. This information facilitates the development of a THz channel model, enabling path loss calculations for diverse propagation paths. We further investigate path loss differences under various weather conditions, including rainfall and snowfall. The study examines the cumulative distribution function (CDF) of the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) at 220 GHz, performs distribution fitting, and analyzes bit error rates to elucidate the distinctive characteristics of THz channels in urban scenarios. This comprehensive approach provides crucial insights for the design and optimization of THz communication systems in city environments.
