摘要

Computation of electromagnetic scattering by large inhomogeneous 3D targets continues to be a challenging task. The electromagnetic dual-primal finite element tearing and interconnecting (FETI) method has been adopted in this paper. Furthermore, the perfectly matched layer (PML) technique has been utilized to truncate the simulation domain. Numerical experiments reveal that the PML model results in much higher accuracy compared with the 1st-order absorbing boundary condition model. More importantly, although the PML model gives rise to ill-conditioned discretized matrices, FETI ensures a high degree of efficiency, demonstrating the great potential of FETI for analyzing electromagnetic scattering by large inhomogeneous 3D targets.
