Design of Pulse-Coded Waveforms Resilient to Pulse Eclipsing via Majorization-Minimization Framework

摘要

For a duplex radar, especially which operates with high pulse repetition frequency (PRF), the eclipsing phenomenon leads to a significant increase in sidelobe levels after matching filtering, which is due to the loss of return echoes when the receiver is turned off during the transmission of a pulse. The solutions of this problem mainly focus on signal processing that requires high computational complexity. In this paper, we establish a criterion to assess the sidelobe levels with pulse eclipsing taken into consideration, and then we propose a majorization-minimization based method to reduce the sidelobe levels in this scenario. Numerical experiments show that the proposed algorithm is effective.
