Analysis and comparison on two kinds of crankshaft balance method for in-line 6-cylinder engines

摘要

By using CAD, FEA and MSS technologies, two kinds of crankshaft balance method for the cramshaft with 8 and 12 balance blocks in an in-line 6 cylinder engine were studied in this paper. Based on the geometric models of the systems, the multi-body system dynamics simulation and the free modal computation were carried out. Thus the loads of main bearings and the natural frequencies were obtained. Moreover, the inner balance characteristics were discussed by the inner-moments calculation of two structures. By the comparison and analysis of the above results, it is concluded that the 8-balance-weight structure is better than the 12-balance-weight structure.
