摘要

Sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL) occurs in 1.5 billion globally, primary driven by damage of cochlear hair cells and spiral ganglion neurons. This review systematically describes several treatment strategies for SNHL. Traditional treatments such as drug therapies consisting of direct drug delivery and carrier-mediated drug delivery, and physical therapies including hearing aids and hearing implants, have limitations. Emerging stem cell therapy shows promise in regenerating damaged inner ear hair cells, while gene therapy targets key deafness genes, offering potential cures for hereditary hearing loss. Future research should focus on optimizing these strategies to overcome current challenges and improve outcomes for patients with SNHL.
