A New Method of Missile Agile Turning Using Terminal Sliding Mode Control

摘要

This paper addresses the implementation issues of missile agile turning and proposes a novel solution using a flexible parachute/rudder scheme. It is compared and validated through simulation with pure rudder scheme and reaction-jet/rudder scheme. To address the highly nonlinear, uncertain, and rapidly time-varying dynamics of agile turning, a non-singular terminal sliding mode method is employed to ensure that the control system tracks the pitch angle command within a finite time. By establishing a longitudinal plane dynamics model and designing the controller, the agile turning is simulated and verified. The simulation results demonstrate that the flexible parachute/rudder scheme effectively achieves turning and the turning performance is comparable to the reaction-jet/rudder scheme.
