A NEW DESIGN RESPONSE SPECTRUM BASED ON SHOCK WAVEFORM METHOD

摘要

In this study, 1199 seismic waves were selected as the seismic wave database, all of them are decomposed by Shock Waveform method (SW) to get the first 50 decomposed components of each seismic wave. It can be found that the PSA envelope (Saenvelope (T)) of the 50 PSAs of SW decomposed components exhibited a notable shape similarity with the PSA of its corresponding seismic wave (Sareal (T)). Based on the shape similarity, new methods to determine the characteristic period Tg, the long-period transition period TD and the shape correction period Tβ have been introduced into the normalized Design Response Spectrum (DRS) in Eurocode 8-2022, hence, the normalized DRS based on SW decomposition method (normalized SWDRS) can be constructed. Furthermore, this study gives the ground motion attenuation regression relationship between the parameters (Tg, TD, Tβ, β1, β2) of the normalized SWDRS model and the seismic magnitude and site condition based on the seismic wave database. Finally, according to the regression formulae of the attenuation relationship and the DRS spectral plateau value Sα recommended by the seismic hazard map for one specific site in Turkey, the recommended SWDRS for this local site can be determined, comparing the SWDRS, the latest local DRS, and the severest historical PSA recorded in this site, separately, which demonstrates the SWDRS can provide more accurate spectral value over intermediate and long period ranges for structural seismic design.
