摘要

Based on the homogenization theory for periodic microstructures, a fixed point iteration method for calculating boundary conditions of multi-particle unit cell of the microstructures was used to study the mechanical characteristics and the fracture behaviors of the TiC-reinforced titanium matrix composites (TP-650). Finite element (FE) models with some microstructure characteristics of the TP-650 composites were established. The relationship between the mechanical behaviors and the microstructure parameters was studied. Furthermore, the failure behavior, as well as the predicted progress of a crack, of the composites under tensile loadings was simulated.
