A context modeling method of knowledge recommendation for designers

In this era of information explosion, providing the right information to the right person within reasonable time duration to support humans in accomplishing their tasks is the main task of knowledge recommendation systems. Context plays an important role in the process of improving the effectiveness and precision in knowledge recommendation system. While extant researches of knowledge recommendation oriented toward different goals such as knowledge management system, organizational memory or problem solving, it is necessary to find out unique characteristics of knowledge recommendation of designers and to derive a context model to effectively utilize contextual knowledge to recommend knowledge to designers. This paper proposed a method to establish the context model of knowledge and the designer, and then find the relationship between them and thus provide a new knowledge recommendation pattern. Finally, an experiment was implemented to verify the methodology.
