摘要
The emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from furniture is one of the main causes of poor indoor air quality, and seriously affects people's comfort, health and productivity. To accurately predict the emission characteristics, it is necessary to establish a corresponding mass transfer model to describe it. The existing mass transfer models including internal diffusion, interface distribution and surface convection processes are rather complicated, requiring numerical solution or infinite series of summation, which needs a large amount of calculation and is not convenient for engineering application. In this paper, the existing emission models and their analytical solutions are studied deeply. A new simplified double exponential model is proposed to predict the emission characteristics of VOCs from furniture, which can significantly reduce the computational complexity. Based on the key emission parameters measured in the literature, the simplified double exponential model is used to calculate the gas phase VOC concentrations in the environmental chamber and indoor environment. The obtained results are in good agreement with the experimental data in the literature, demonstrating the effectiveness of the simplified model.
