Workflow-based closed loop process control for aircraft quality

Abstract

To open with the modeling complexity and controlling difficulty of the aircraft quality assurance process in the maintenance phase, a new hierarchical process modeling and closed loop controlling method is put forward based on the workflow. First, the management requirements and characteristics of the quality assurance process are analyzed based on China's guideline for the closed loop control of aerospace products. Then, a hierarchical process modeling method is established by extending the workflow function, and a timely and reliable task dispatching ability for closed loop control can be provided by taking advantage of the workflow engine. By this method, the complex quality control process can be disassembled into several more simple and independent sub-processes which can be reassembled dynamically. A typical quality problem disposing process is discussed in detail as an example. Finally, the implementation and application of the method in the article is demonstrated by the maintenance management system of an aircraft manufacturing cooperation.
