Abstract
The prediction range for wireless channels is limited by the coherent time while the pilot symbols are limited by the Doppler frequency in channel prediction. The relationship between the channel state information (CSI) and the static channel parameters was analyzed to develop a parametric predictor on the basis of auxiliary environmental static parameters. When the static parameters and the state of the moving station are known, the algorithm can accurately predict the CSI variation. The algorithm performance is compared with auto regression predictors using real measurement data for narrow-band flat-fading channel model. The prediction length is not limited to 1/2 wavelength and the number of pilots is a function of only the static scatterers.
