Abstract

In this article, a wideband self-decoupled 8-element antenna for 5G plastic mobile phone is proposed. The 8-element antenna consists of four self-decoupled dual-Antenna systems. The dual-Antenna system consists of two PIFAs and a neutralization with an inductance. The methods of CM/DM and neutralization line are applied simultaneously to reduce the mutual coupling between the two elements of dual-Antenna system. The coupling between the four dual-Antenna systems is achieved by the proper distance. A fabricated prototype shows that the measured-6 dB impedance bandwidths are 0.9GHz (3.3-4.2GHz) which cover the n77 bands. Within these bands, the measured mutual coupling between two ports is also better than-10dB.
