Abstract

Lithium rich manganese-based cathode material (LMR) xLi2 MnO3 (1-x)LiMO2 is considered to be the most promising cathode material for lithium-ion batteries in the future due to its high specific capacity and low cost. However, LMR cathodes faced with severe voltage fade problems which shortening the cycle life of LMR cathodes and limiting the industrialization process of LMR cathodes. The paper expounded the voltage fade of LMR cathodes, summarized the influence of voltage attenuation on crystal structure, introduced the factors affecting the voltage decay of LMR cathodes, gave the solution to alleviate the voltage decay of LMR materials, and outlooked the application and developing direction of LMR cathodes.
