Abstract
The necessary of carrying out verification and validation for I.C.E components structural simulation models was demonstrated. Based on the characteristics of I.C.E components structural simulations, the connotations of verification and validation were redefined. The strategy which utilized the method of model document to perform model verification was established, and the model document criterion was built. The general way to perform model validation was studied. Taking crankshaft structural simulation as an example, model verification and validation was performed. It is illustrated that model verification and validation is an effective way to ensure I.C.E components structural simulation reliability.
