Abstract

A method of combining the two types of data service CSD and GPRS based on GSM applied to GPS vehicle real time monitor system was proposed. The network structure of the system above was put forward. Then it implements the CSD and GPRS hardware Interface and software flow based on the ERICSSON GR47 communication module. Compared with conventional single mode of GPRS, this method makes up the disadvantage of the high time delay and the incertitude of the time delay in data transfer. In this case, the real time of data transfer of the system gets guarantee. It indicates that this method has the properties that the system alarming time is less than 3 seconds, the data Bit-Error rate is nearly zero and the positioning error is less than 10 meters, which has high practicability and validity for the GPS vehicle real time monitoring system.
