Abstract

Current CDMA systems suffer from both multiple access interference (MAI) and inter-symbol interference (ISI). MAI is due to the non-zero cross-correlation side lobes, while ISI is due to the non-zero auto-correlation side lobes. Recently, the use of codes that are interference free over a window has been proposed. The problem with these codes is that their capacity is limited due to dimension limitation. This paper establishes upper bounds on the access code efficiency for signals with an interference free window.
