Abstract

Several important procedures of unstructured grid generation in complex flow fields are represented. The source terms are used to control the distribution of the mesh unit size. B-spline curve is applied to reform the geometric boundary, which ensures the proper mesh dimensions of the boundary nodes. The Delaunay triangulation method and advancing-front method are used to generate the initial grid system and inner grid system accordingly, which ensures the completeness of the boundary and the quality and efficiency of the inner grids. The advancing-front process is improved by using the method of entire layer noses insertion and local mesh reconnection. Finally, several grid generation results in complex flow fields are shown to demonstrate the presented method.
