Abstract
Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) are playing important roles in many fields. The configuration and control of an unmanned tandem helicopter using models for the rotor and the helicopter were analyzed. The model was used to relate the control parameters to the helicopter flight characteristics and to simulate real-time flight for display on a PC. The simulated control results approximated real helicopter flight for small disturbances.
