Abstract

Three types of reactors are described, i. e. , high-leakage inductance transformer type, magnetic valve type, and multi-parallel inductance type. The advantages and disadvantages of each of these three types of reactors are discussed. A controllable reactor installed on the line side must be able to respond quickly to line switching and grounding faults and then promptly recovers its full capacity. The parameters of the neutral inductance of three-phase reactors should be determined according to the full capacity of the reactors.
