Abstract

The internal clusters in metallofullerenes usually exhibit certain motion that is potentially usable in molecular gyroscopes and nano-machines. Based on ⁴⁵Sc NMR, the motion of the scandium nitride cluster within the C₈₀ cage was investigated via varying the temperature and modifying the cage, and by changing the cluster size.
