Topology optimization design of gearbox housing under multiple loading cases

Abstract

Aimed at the multiple loading cases characteristics of gearbox system, a gearbox housing FEM model was taken up, then the static analysis and modal analysis were performed, the stress nephogram and displacement nephogram were obtained. Based on the platform, a topology optimization design was carried on, where the optimal object was the 1st mode frequency, constraint conditions was the global stress, displacement amplitude and volume fraction, then the gearbox housing was modified according to structure's material density nephogram results. The weight of modified structure is reduced by 19kg, then structure reanalysis was carried out, the results indicate that the topology optimization design is feasible.
