Abstract
The recent advances in the novel high-energy-density material dihydroxylammonium 5,5'-bistetrazole-1,1'-diolate(TKX-50)for applications in monomer explosives and composite explosives were reviewed. By analyzing multidimensional research achievements in crystal structure, thermal behavior, synthesis methods, and composite systems, the unique ionic molecular configuration and synergistic hydrogen-bonding network mechanism of TKX-50 were elucidated, which confers the material with balanced characteristics of high density, low sensitivity, and superior detonation performance. Studies demonstrate that the synthesis process has evolved from traditional multi-step routes to one-pot methods and crystallization control strategies, significantly enhancing production efficiency and safety. In composite explosive systems, energy output optimization has been achieved through interface engineering and morphology control. The current research still confronts challenges in scalable production, component compatibility, and extreme environment adaptability. The future work should emphasize green synthesis processes, multi-scale simulations, and intelligent design to advance innovative applications of TKX-50 in advanced energetic materials.
