Abstract
Application of electromagnetic waves in biology and medicine has attracted a wide range of interests. There have been many publications concentrated on thermal heating effect of millimeter and terahertz waves on human body, for therapy and attacking purposes. In this work, we develop a theoretical model by combing the double-debye dielectric model, double-layer transmission model and Pennes equation. The path loss, skin depth and equilibrium temperature are predicted and evaluated with respect to variation of operating frequency, irradiation time and power density. We hope the proposed theoretical model and the conducted conclusions in this work will be helpful for the biological and medical applications of millimeter and terahertz waves.
