Abstract
Based on the rate equation of two-level system, continuous wave Yb3+ doped double-clad fiber amplifier is studied by means of numericals methods theoretically. The optimal fiber length, gain and efficiency of fiber amplifier are analyzed particularly under the condition of high power. Experimental system of fiber amplifier pumped by diode laser is presented and 16 W single-frequency laser is obtained. Experimental and theoretical curves are discussed.
