Abstract

The characteristics of the driving pulses in a discharge cell of an ac plasma display panel are simulated using a 2d3v PIC MCC code. The basic driving voltage pulses of operations such as igniting, writing, sustaining, and erasing are given. The space and time variations of the charged particle densities and the potential profile are described for various voltage forms. The time evolution of currents and wall charges, which plays an important role in the cell discharge processes of AC PDP is discussed.
