Abstract

The formation of a mononuclear molybdenum(VI) complex [MoO ₂{O(CH₂)₂S(CH₂)₂OH} (OSiBu'Ph₂)] (2) derived from its binuclear precursor [MoO ₂{O(CH₂)₂S(CH₂)₂O}] ₂ (1) by a silylation reaction accompanied by the conversion of methanol to chloromethane is reported.
