Abstract

The energy characteristics of Al/PTFE-type and Mg/PTFE-type impact reactive materials were compared. Based on Al/PTFE, the mixture of aluminum powder and magnesium powder, aluminum-magnesium alloy powder were used to replace aluminum powder of reactive materials. By Matlab programming, heats of reaction of two kinds of replaced reactive materials were analyzed and compared. By using the evaluation method of the energy characteristics, the energy characteristics of two kinds of replaced reactive materials were evaluated under the condition of the same volume and initial velocity. The results show that, heats of reaction of two kinds of replaced reactive materials are higher than that of Al/PTFE. The total energy of Al/Mg/PTFE is lower than that of Al/PTFE, while the total energy of Al-Mg/PTFE is higher than that of Al/PTFE when the initial velocity is the common velocity of penetration.
