Abstract

Catalytic properties and degradation of Co3O4 infiltrated La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3/Ce0. Gd0.1O2 (LSCF/CGO) cathode with Ag current collectors have been studied in this work. By controlling the infiltration sequence and the distribution of Co3O4 nanoparticles, we were able to distinguish the aging effects of LSCF/CGO composite cathode and Ag current collector contributed to the cathode's performance. It was confirmed that the stability of the infiltrated cells was influenced by the stability of both LSCF/CGO cathode and the Ag current collector. The aging of Ag current collector was found to be a major detrimental factor of the cell degradation, significantly enlarging the ASR during aging. Such deterioration was found to be suppressed by Co3O4 infiltration.
