Abstract

Along with the sharply increased quantity of vehicles, traffic safety has become more and more serious. It is necessary to consider about how to maximize the potential of advanced auxiliary driving technology and improve active vehicle safety features. The aim of this research is enhancing the efficiency of traffic and displaying the status information of vehicles, traffic, and environment effectively and reasonably. The new HUD (head up display) interface was designed by analyzing the inadequacy of existing interfaces and combining relevant investigation results in this paper. Besides, the appropriate display position was designed by the characteristic analysis of drivers' line-of-sight. The achievements of this paper are to design a HUD interface under different conditions; reduce redundant information as far as possible; determines a reasonable display position. In conclusion, we hope to help drivers obtain the information they need without disturbing themselves.
