The application of BaO-CaO-Al2O3-SiO2 system glass-ceramic for SOFC

Abstract

BaO-CaO-Al2O3-SiO2La2O 3-B2O3 system glass and glass-ceramic materials have been investigated as SOFC sealant. The sealant has a minimum thermal expansion mismatch with strontium-doped lanthanum manganite (LSM) cathode and Fe-Cr alloy intercollector. The sealant has a superior stability and composite during the process of operation in SOFC. The results show that the BaO-CaO-Al2O3-SiO2-La2O 3-B2O3 system sealant can be used as sealing materials for SOFC.
