Abstract

A series of decanuclear gold(I) μ3-sulfido clusters with different diphosphinoamine ligands, [Au10(μ-Ph2PN(R)PPh2)43-S)4](PF6)2 (R = C6H4C6H5 (1), anthryl (2), and (CH2)3SCH3 (3)), has been synthesized and characterized. The X-ray crystal analysis of complex 1 has revealed a propeller-like structure of the gold(I) μ3-sulfido complexes with short Au(I)···Au(I) distances of 3.013–3.397 Å. The complexes have been found to show dual luminescence in the green and orange-red region. Their UV–vis absorption and emission properties have also been studied.
