Abstract

High molecular weight biodegradable poly (hexane-sebacate) was synthesized by direct polycondensation from sebacic acid and 1,6-hexanediol, the chemical structure was identified by FT-IR and 1H-NMR, the intrinsic viscosity was measured by Ubbelohde viscometer, the melting point, glass transition temperature was determined by DSC, and the tensile strength is 23.5 MPa, the elongation at break is 935.0%, in the synthesis procedure high molecular weight of product (M̄n=45809) was obtained with the yield of 96%.
