Abstract
A new organic-inorganic hybrid zinc borate [Zn(dab) 0.5(dab′) 0.5(B 4O 6(OH) 2)]·H 2O has been hydrothermally synthesized by using 1,4-diaminobutane (dab) as the linkers and characterized by means of elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis and single-crystal X-ray diffraction, respectively. This compound crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2 1/c, a = 9.997(3) Å, b = 8.371(3) Å, c = 16.321(4) Å, β = 111.7(1)°, V = 1268.8(7) Å 3, Z = 4. The structure contains ZnO 2N 2 tetrahedra, 1,4-dab and B 4O 7(OH) 2 clusters, which interconnect to form a new three-dimensional framework.
