Abstract

Based on three dimensions CFD (computational fluid dynamic) simulation, the law of the supporting column influence on the turbine performance was studied, by changing the section shape of supporting column and the distance between the supporting column and the rotation plane. The results show that the supporting column will result in the decrease of the average power efficient, and the maximum value of which can be 2%. And the supporting column has obvious influence on the transience performance of turbine, which lead to the fluctuation of the transience loads of turbine. From the comparison with experiment results, it can be seen that the calculation results of turbine is reasonable and the curves of power coefficient and loads of turbine are following the experiment curves, therefor, the calculations results are credible.
