Study on the pulse sound field model of ultrasonic transducer based on small ball reflection method

Abstract

Small ball reflection method is commonly used in measuring ultrasonic transducer sound field. In order to study the effect of the size of small ball on the measurement accuracy of sound field, a theoretical model is proposed to calculate the distribution of sound pressure of ultrasonic pulse sound field radiated by planar transducer and reflected by a small ball with a known dimension based on small ball reflection method. The distributions of sound pressure of ultrasonic pulse sound field reflected by different sized small balls are calculated. The correctness of the theoretical model is verified by experiments. Theoretical calculations and experimental results show that the smaller the size of the ball, the higher the measurement accuracy.
