Abstract
Using the finite element method and mechanical equivalent principle, the load-bearing mechanism of some key function structures in cylinder head of diesel engine was studied. The results show that the jacket of the injector, the inlet port, the exhaust port, the valve guides, the jobbing plate and the strengthen rib could transfer and disperse the explosive pressure acting on the cylinder head by different mechanisms. These structures were found to play an important role on restraining the deformation and decreasing the stress concentration of cylinder head. Adjusting these parameters of structures could distribute the overall and local stress.
