Abstract
The CAN bus circuit model and test-bench are built. The results of theoretical analysis and experiment indicate that, with decrease of the terminal resistance, the differential voltage of the CAN signal is reduced and its dynamic response is accelerated. The CAN bus length is determined by isolated components, filters, drivers, unit impedance of wires and bit speed of the real circuit. The CAN bus signals are transimitted 25 m, which is much less than the theoretical length 40 m at 1 Mbit/s. CAN nodes are up to the load ability of drivers and delay time of signal transmission. With the increase of nodes, the differential voltage of the CAN signal is reduced and its dynamicresponse is slowered.
