Abstract

Aim: To study the coating effects on HMX particles with polyethyl arcylate under different conditions. Methods: Polyethyl acrylate emulsions were produced, and HMX was coated with polyethyl acrylate. XPS, DSC, TEM and sensitivity instrument were used to characterize and analyze the coating effects. The optimum conditions of coating HMX with polyethyl acrylate were obtained. Results and Conclusion: The results show that the maximum coated degree on HMX particles is up to 64.0%, the thickness of coating membrane is about 0.3 μm, the thermo-decomposition temperature of the coated HMX is unchanged basically compared to that of uncoated HMX, and the mechanical sensitivity is lowered slightly.
