Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To study the optimal alcohol extraction process of suanzaoren decoction by orthogonal design. METHODS: RP-HPLC methods were developed for the determination of spinosin, ferulic acid, mangiferin and glycyrrhizic acid in suanzaoren decoction. The contents of components and extraction yield were selected as assessment indices. Three factors were studied by L9 (34), including the solvent consumption, duration of extraction and times of extraction. RESULTS: The optimal extracting condition was 95% alcohol consumed as ten times of crude herb amount, and three times for 1 h each time. CONCLUSION: This study supplies basic and instructive data for further research and development of suanzaoren decotion formulation.
