Abstract

The hybrid powertrain is one of the most important technologies that have been developed to satisfy the challenging of fuel economy and emission standards. In recent studies, various types of hybrid vehicles have been proposed. As is well known, a suitable configuration should not only meet the requirements of vehicle kinematics and dynamics, but also meet the requirement of fuel economy and emission. In this paper, the hybrid powertrain system is regarded as a system with multiple power sources. Also, a systematic design and analysis method is proposed, which is based on kinematic degree of freedom and static degree of freedom. The method proposed in this paper provides a new viewpoint for the configuration design and analysis of hybrid power system.
