Abstract

The aluminum coating on magnesium alloy surface was prepared by electro-arc spraying. In order to improve the interface property between magnesium alloy matrix and aluminum coating, the samples were treated at 450°C for two hours or hot pressing at 250°C for one hour. The result shows that both heat treatments can improve the interface property. But the crystal grain growth is notable by the first method. On the other hand, the magnesium alloy matrix is influenced slightly, and the aluminum coating property is improved also by the second method.
