Abstract

Natural rnordenite was modified by ion exchange with metallic ion to get an effective and inexpensive catalyst for the removal of SO2. The catalyst having a desulfurization rate of about 89% can be used in the industrial desulfurization of flue gas. FT-IR, XPS and CERIUS2 have been applied in the study of the mechanism of SO2 removal with natural mordenite modified by Fe3+ and in the method of preparation of the catalyst.
