Abstract

The ultra-violet (UV) radiation characteristics of alternating current plasma display panel (AC PDP) with different coplanar gaps were investigated by 2D fluid model. And the UV characteristics with conventional driving scheme and trigger scheme are investigated. The numerical results show that as the coplanar gap increasing from 80 μm to 120 μm, the firing voltage increases, but the energy of UV radiation decreases and the UV efficiency changes slightly at same sustaining voltage with conventional driving scheme. With the trigger driving scheme, the energy of UV radiation and UV efficiency increase as the coplanar gap increasing.
